Incentive spirometry measures the volume of your breath and can be used for lung health after lung surgery or a lung illness, such as Covid-19 or pneumonia. Use of iPEP® can help keep your lungs clear and ventilation capacity up while recovering from surgery or illness. The more mucus you are producing the more often your healthcare provider will recommend using the iPEP® device. Continue using the device unless otherwise instructed by your healthcare provider.
Once your physician indicates you can, remove the PocketPEP® OPEP from the iPEP® and continue to use this small, convenient device to continue your lung rehabilitation.
Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure helps loosen secretions in your lungs caused by COPD, cystic fibrosis, breathlessness, asthma, smoker’s cough and more. The oscillation is produced by the PocketPEP® device that is part of the iPEP®. Once loosened, you can easily cough out the mucus for easier breathing.
Be sure to get a prescription for the iPEP® device from your healthcare provider during your next appointment.
